Well-seismic tie (time-Depth)

  • Helps in identifying accurately the seismic reflection events corresponding to the well tops.
  • Estimated wavelets help in assessing the frequency content and phase of the data.

Wavelet and phase assessment

  • Seismic data is processed for zero phase. This means that the peak/ trough of the reflection follows the position of the reflector. It is important to ascertain if the data has spurious phase, in which case the reflection events will not only mis-position the reflector, but also will show spurious events.

Color inversion

  • A quick well-based band-limited inversion transforms the interface property of the reflection seismic data to the corresponding layer property in the relative impedance domain. Such a transformation makes interpretation easier, faster and accurate.
  • Colour inversion is a quick approach to study the fluid and lithology effects of the reservoir.
  • Color inversion volume is used in the seismic net pay calculation.

Well based resolution enhancement

  • Helps in identifying thin reservoirs.
  • An AVO compliant resolution enhancement is used to separate out the anomaly from the background in the cross-plot domain.

Seismic net-pay

  • Color inversion volume is used to generate seismic net pay maps by the wavelet detuning approach. The map indicates lateral distribution of good quality sand in the area of interest.
  • The map provides an accurate control over the of net-to-gross parameter in the volumetric calculations of prospects.

Inversion attribute based prospect volumetric calculation

  • The approach utilizes inversion derived attribute and/or machine learning based predictive modeling to provide more accurate prospect level volumetric estimation.

Inversion attribute guided property distribution for geological modeling

  • Reservoir properties distributed in the geological model are derived from the inversion attributes and adequately quality checked with the blind wells. The derived properties provide an excellent approach to build a model consistent with the seismic information.
